{Noah} turns 5

I love that my clients, friends and family continue to return to me for new events in their lives! I have been photographing Noah for the past few years and it is so much fun to watch him grow up. He turned 5 recently and we took him out to a place that would be perfect for him. A place with a blue truck! He could get in and on the truck and I knew this would be a great place for a 5 year old boy! He loved it and the pictures turned out great.

I have had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful (and when I say Beautiful I mean BEAUUUUTIFUL) little girl since she was a newborn! I can't get over her eyes and her sweet, sweet smiles!!! I Love my job!

{Audrey} class of 2011

This is probably my top meaningful session I have had. Probably more so for me than her, but needless to say it is! Audrey is so smart, caring and beautiful! She will be attending Rice university. Way to go Audrey!!!
Im going to share a little back history and some really meaningful and low moments that her family has made it through. This post has been very hard for me to write because of the emotion and I have been putting it off as to make it through the whole thing.
When Audrey was younger, she and her sister used to help babysit my 2 oldest sons when I REALLY needed them, Usually at the very LAST moments notice. Her mother hired me to work for her in apartment leasing, MANY moons ago. If it would not have been for her, I would not have been working at the place I was when I met my sweet husband. If I have never told you, Thank you! Those were some great times, and some sad times. Through it all, it was great to see her grow up into a BEAUTIFUL young lady!
SO......there has been a very traumatic time in there life that they have been through and completely trusted in God. It is amazing to see their faith and love through it all. Audrey had a beautiful older sister Taylor. She was full of life and happiness, a true testament of life. Taylor met a very sweet young man and fell in love. She was pregnant with her first baby and on her way to have lunch with her mom at a family members house, the weather was starting to get rocky, which happens very often in Texas and at a drop of a hat! Taylor got out of the car to go into the house, and when she stepped out, she was struck by lightening. It was then that Jesus gained a beautiful girl and sweet baby. She was rushed to an intensive burn unit but the damage was too great.
Audrey and her mom are such warriors. I love you both. Thank you for letting me be a part of your life, and thank you for being in mine!

Look at all her cords! She has accomplished so much! I can't wait to hear what you accomplish at Rice University!

Dallas {wedding}

I have been second shooting a lot for my Friend Amanda at Mulberry Lane Studios and I have not been able to post as many of the pictures as I would like. I have a lot more editing of those sessions to do, however...I could not NOT edit a few of these pictures of this bride and groom I shot this past weekend. I came home and started to edit! They were so cute and they had no problems letting us play! We got a chance to play with light. This particular wedding was actually shot with Chris Herbert at The Modern Mutt. The three of us have really been working as a team getting through this busy wedding season! It sure has been crazy! But also Amazing. I LOVE weddings. So here a few from that night. I will post some more later!

Last month I photographed my brother in laws wedding and I was so thankful that they asked me to do it! It really meant a lot to me! We drove down with the family for a little bit, got away and I was able to do what I love while I was there! It really was a lot of fun. Of course any time that I get to be with my family is wonderful.
So my new sister in law had a fabulous wedding dress and my brother in law was dressed up so nice. They had just moved in their new house and decided to have their wedding in the back yard. Now they do not have just any ordinary back yard! They have lots of trees and a perfect spot right in the middle of them for an isle and chairs! It was PERFECT! She had the trees decorated with really cute signs. Her and I have very similar taste so it was really neat to see all her great finds and furniture she has refinished! If anything was going to be missing, she would know where to find it....in my car!!! I would never REALLY take anything from them but she did have some really cool stuff! I can't wait to visit and go antique shopping!
Anyhow, Im really hoping that we get to do a trash the dress session because I think that it would be a ton of fun around there! I have LOTS of ideas!!! So...to the pictures......

Another one of my friends recently had her first baby and I was able to photograph him in his first week. He looks just like his daddy and he was such a good baby! He let me snuggle him for a while and then we got to work. My sweet little ankle bitter was getting a little jealous of his mommy holding a different baby. It's funny to see them get like that at such a young age. Anyhow, I had some new props and enjoyed getting to use them with baby {L}. Mind you his name was one that I wanted but my hubby wouldn't let me have it so I was SO happy that my friend used it!!! Thank you {E} and {M} for letting me photograph your sweet baby boy!

a special maternity session

So I had the opportunity to photograph a maternity session with one of my friends that I have known the longest. And when I say...the longest...I mean back from Kindergarten. We won't go into how long that is! :) Anyhow...my wonderful friend {A} has the sweetest husband! I love them both and I am so very happy that they have found each other. But let me just tell you, they made my job very easy. And their love emanates in everything they do! Here are a few pictures from our session.

Im going to be doing some back blogging in the next few days. But right now I am going to start off with the session I finished up today! Little I is the chillest little boy I have been around! He was so easy going...but boy did he love his cupcakes! I had the pleasure of going to school with his sweet momma and photographing her when she was pregnant. This was also when I met her sweet Hubby. Between the two of them, I can easily see where he gets his calm attitude from!

This was the coolest dinosaur I had ever seen! He loves it and was not scared of it at all.

Good evening everyone! I should have posted this earlier, however I was frantically cleaning the 7 million loads of laundry that needed to be done before we left out of town! I know I know...why did I wait until the last minute to do all that laundry?! Desperate times call for desperate measures! lol. We have been SUPER busy!

Recently...okay a few weeks ago...I took my kiddos and my hubby out to do some Valentines pictures. Really these were supposed to be of the kids to make their Valentines day cards to give out to their classes. However, we had a sick baby and a million snow days and I could not catch a break to put them together. I was stuck day in and day out inside this house and the kids were restless and I could not get spare moments to throw it together! So I am still editing them. I did find some that I could edit quickly and that I LOVE! Especially the ones of my hubby and the baby! My hubby looks so handsome! I love him, I do!

So I keep saying that Im going to start back up with my posts and honestly it has been very hard for me to keep up with my editing, website, new baby, my family, our other business AND my blog. So unfortunatly this blog has been put to the side. However, things have been getting back to normal and I will be posting more sneak peeks on here instead of my facebook. So enjoy this next post and hearing about my photography and how I will be now offering a new service!!!
So I had 2 people ask me at the same time that I was already wanting to try Boudoir photograpy and decided to go ahead and jump right in. I am SO glad I did because it has been amazing. SO for those of you out there that are hesitant on this, it is not nude or playboy. This is tastefully done photos for the love in your life. This is a great sassy gift for that special person. These can be done in your own home, a hotel or I will even offer up mine.
If you are interested, please let me know and I will be happy to answer any questions that you may have!

SO...this was the first session I had and it was so much fun for me. This sweet girl gave birth the same day I did (October 14, 2010) at the same birthing center. My yelling at my time of delivery is what got her talking to me again at the time our sons were scheduled for an appointment! I am so glad because she has become a great friend to me. And yes this means you! As friends and clients! I was at a maternity session yesterday and we came across the perfect chair for children photography. It was the BEST prop. Okay and when I say we came across...that is an overstatment. Another photographer at the same location, brought it with her for her session. SO...as they left it in our way and walked around the corner to take different pictures....borrowed it for a quick second! It was perfect and worked for exactly what I needed it for at that moment.
So the point of this is....if any of you come across somethin like this or know where I can get it from....please, please, please let me know!!!
Oh And I edited it 2 different ways. I couldnt decide which I liked better!

So this week at I heart faces is Hilarious Out Takes. I immediatly thought about this picture of my kids. I can take pictrues of other peoples kids all day long but sometimes my own are very frustrating! lol.It did turn out quite funny!

Erin HATED to touch the grass. As soon as a finger or toe touched it she would scream! It was quite funny. Poor baby.

It was such a pleasure to shoot this session. This sweet family have overcome alot of obstacles and it was great to get them smileing. They were so happy and friendly. Pee. This sweet sweet baby (my nephews new baby), just about pee'd on everything we put her on! It was so funny. She was a trip though, everytime we would uncover her and try to pose her, she would wake right up and have nothing to do with the pictures. I did thoroughly enjoy this session though, on accounts of how much I LOVE babies! I am so happy to see her grow and to get to take more pictures of her as she reaches these different milestones!

I had to change the last picture because I thought of something all of a sudden. My poor sick hubby and the only way he can get better is to take 1 tablet by mouth daily, of i heart faces. This was my sweet sweet dog. We recently had to find her a new home. She is with my best friends cousin and very close by. We can still visit! So that is a plus. She was a great well behaved dog but the hair was really starting to bother my sons asthma and my husbands allergies (so much to where he could barely breath). He also has asthma. They endured it for 3 years and it was still very hard to let her go, even with all he health issues. We miss her very much! I love this picture though!
It shows how super sweet and soft spirited she was!

For those of you following my blog know that I had a miscarriage a couple of months ago and was totally devestated. Yesterday afternoon I had a strange feeling to to take a pregnancy test and it was positive! WE ARE PREGNANT! I can't believe it! I can't believe I didn't have a clue. Go figure. Anyhow....this has been an exciting week for me so far! And thanking God that out of my miscarriage I started my photography business and he continues to bless me each and everyday. Sometimes it is hard to realize just how much it happens. But I am taking the time to step back and count my blessings. thank you Jesus for my family and I can feel that you are protecting this baby and that we will have a healthy pregnancy!

My sweet C was a Bumble Bee Last year. This was taken soon after I had got my camera, and I love this picture captured of her. She looked so sweet on Halloween. I was able to put mascara on her and glitter on her face. She loved it. She reminds me of a pagent girl in this picture. It still makes me giggle.

So I am doing a free photo session for an Auction at my friends son's school. I am pretty excited about this as it is a way for me to get some clients that are not just my friends! lol. So I am posting the coupon that I made! I think it looks pretty good!

When I had my miscarriage, I went into "keep busy" operation mode. In just 1 week I had painted my bedroom, painted and distressed a hutch and revamped my curtains. {I also started on some other projects but not to do with my room.}

The red {maroon} curtain was already up. I cut it in half and added the black damask cutain and the fringe! I really love how it turned out and the black pulled in the black on the comforter. I will be recovering the glider in zebra print to add some more texture to the room!

I am waiting and trying to find a table for underneath the hutch. Then I will enclose the bottom with fabric. But I want it to have a black top. We will see how my search ends up!

This lamp is my favorite. It was originally for the kitchen nook but pfor some reason we can not get the outlet to work for anything. SO I moved the one I had bought for this space and put it on top of the fridgerator and placed this lovely lamp in its place! It really puts a nice glow in the room!

Please don't pay attention to the mess on the bed. My fantastic husband was hanging a TV over the bedroom door! Now I no longer have a TV on the dresser!!!! WOO HOO!!! The bedside lamps will be changed as soon as I find some that I just LOVE!

So as of right now my camera is at Best Buy! I had to send it in to be cleaned and inspected. About a week ago, while getting out of the car, I was trying to pull my camera bag out of the car and put it upright, yest I did not know that the bag was unzipped. So out came my camera straight onto the driveway. I could have sworn I heard something break. I couldnt figure out what though. The flash works and the lens was not broke....but I wasn't sure what it could have been. With some photo sessions coming up though, I needed to get it sent in. SO...as of now...I am feeling lost. I dont know what to do with myself! lol. I just finished a scrapbook album and I have no camera to take pictures...the weather is PERFECT picture weather and I have no camera...my friend just had a baby and again...I have no camera! Man this is aweful.

Chloe's 3rd Birthday party

Well I finally decided on a Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter Tea party theme. It turned out to be alot of fun. I had all the kids come in silly hats and I set up the table with different tea sets and hanging lanterns in defferent sizes. The kids had a blast and were really good. It was pretty quiet for a while. They even watched a bit of Alice and Wonderland. I was really impressed with all these younge kiddos. I am posting a few pictures from the party!

we did a pot of dirt (pudding and oreo's) instead of cake! It was a big hit with the kids. Even though this was not a part of Alice and Wonderland, I thought it would fit in well with the tea party and with the boys. I painted red hearts and black diamonds on it to fit in with the Queen of hearts!

This is my beautiful Chloe! My mom helped me make this Alice costume. The pattern was difficult to follow. My mom has been sewing for a long time...there was no way I could do this without her! And it turned out FANTASTIC! I can't wait until halloween!

Today I took my sweet baby {not so much a baby anymore} to take some pictures at my favorite place! It turned out great and I couldnt be more pleased! So today I had the pleasure of taking my best friend and her fiance's pictures! It was so much fun....and extremely hot! Of course I am humming and hawing over the photos because it is my best friend....but I am really happy and LOVE playing with the photos! Im going to post some of my favorites! But let me tell you! Day 2- Recovery

Alright so today was not as bad. Emotionally.....I am okay. I really have given it to the Lord and I know that through him, all things are possible! I will have another baby, and this baby will come at the right time in our life. Atleast when God thinks it's the right time! lol. So I will not get dicouraged! I will keep my faith and I will keep on praying! Now as far as pain goes....this is aweful. Now for those of you that know me know that I deliver my babies natural. But atleast in the end you have a beautiful baby! But to be contracting constantly to be running back and forth to the restroom was awful. I was a little sore today but right now I am fine. But in all honesty...this has brought the creative side out in me. I think it is my outlet! I have plans for painting the bedroom and decorating a bit, changing my scrapbook table, and doing some intesting things around the house! Hobby Lobby here I come! LOL.

Well I am beginning my blog, which was meant to be a pregnancy blog but is now not the case. I was 9 weeks pregnant up until today. The Lord has decided to take my life unto a different path. I know miscarriages are normal and it happens more often than not, but it is always that "it will not happen to me mentality". I thought that with 3 other smooth pregnancies, that this one would be the same. But it was not. I am very sad and I will be grieving. BUT, this is in the Lords hands and not mine. I am using his strength now and not mine. He has my baby and that is the best place that it can be. Although I am sad, it is also a time to rejoice that my baby is with Angels. I did not get a chance to know the sex of my baby or what it would have felt like to have that little baby move around in my belly, but I know that it is going to be taken care of.

I will not let this take the best of me. I have 3 wonderful children that still need me. Yet, I am facing the biggest issue still. Telling the children that they are not going to have a brother or sister at this time. They are resiliant though! I have faith that the Lord will sooth their souls, as well as mine and my husbands. I know that he is grieving as well. He also lost a baby. So please pray or him as well.

Thank you to all my friends and family, who have sent me wonderful words of encouragement and prayers! I will forever be greatful for you all. We are blessed to have such wonderful supporters!
